April 14

This is where trucks enter and exit at Iowa 80, the world’s largest truck stop. I spent the night across the street, woke up early and decided to take a picture.
At a small rest area, somewhere in OR, there is a trail leading to a river. I’m not sure if I was allowed to drive down there but nobody stopped me.
If you’re in SD and you don’t see a billboard for Wall Drug, then you ain’t look’n. But if you do see it, do yourself a favor and check out this crazy drug store!
I arrived in the Black Hills the day before but there was too much cloud cover. So spent the night at a Flying J and tried again. It was still cold and windy but worth it.
I’ve been to the Iowa 80 truck stop hundreds of times but this the first time I’ve been there while having a website.
Some kind of antique gas pump display at Iowa 80. I probably wasn’t supposed to park there but nobody stopped me.
I stumbled on this cool looking restaurant in Marion Il. It wasn’t open at the time so I don’t know if it’s any good. Let me know if you’ve been there.
I see these in Texas. This is without doubt the biggest gas station I’ve ever been too. I got gas at pump number 203!
My mechanic heard I was going to Texas. He’s from Baytown and suggested the best burrito was at this hole-in-the-wall called Whatapollo. It was in a scary neighborhood but he was not wrong. The food was amazing.
Sometimes before a trip, my mother supplies me with homemade cookies. Chocolate chip this time, maybe oatmeal/raisin next time. I’ll keep you posted.
